Three days International Conference concludes at Continental Group of Institutes.

The three days conference on “Engineering Innovations-A fillip to economic development” culminated today at Jalvehra campus of Continental Group of Institutes with valedictory function presided over by Dr Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.
The function had the intellectual glitter by the presence of luminaries from academia. Prominent amongst the dignitaries present were Prof K N Pathak Former Vice Chancellor Punjab University Chandigarh, Prof M K Surappa, Director IIT Ropar & Prof Abhijit Mukherjee Director Thapar University Patiala .
In his speech, Col Sandhu, the chairman of the Group highlighted the conspicuous benefits of innovative ventures to the society. On a lighter mode, he made a simply between “Innovation” & “JUGAD” in his characteristic style narrating anecdotes.
Dr Rajneesh Arora, while delivering his valedictory address lauded the quality of the Conference that attracted International participation from UK, China, Singapore & Canada. In his address, he insisted that we should adapt innovative strategies deriving the synergy from cooperation & coordination from all possible quarters resulting into win-win options. He expressed the view that innovation is the successive step to human needs & as such the human needs are to be studied & analyzed critically.
Col Karamjeet Singh , the Institute Director presented the overview of the conference & expressed delight over the overwhelming participation by more than 200 delegates from all over the world. He mentioned that the participants have been immensely benefited & have added great values to them. He thanked the luminaries from academia, industry & practicing professional for their valuable & knowledge rich talks.
Dr Surappa , an alumnus of prestigious Indian Institute of science Bangalore & presently the director of IIT Ropar apprised the audience on various aspects of innovation quoting examples of Einstein, Archimedes, Bill Gates & others who innovated the wonders by shear “out of box” thinkings. He highlighted the importance of creativity for the well being of society.
Dr Abhijit Mukherjee, Director Thapar University highlighted that innovation does not require Ph Ds from prestigious Institutes & insisted that requisite mindset for the same is required. He was of the view that human needs only paves way to innovation.
Dr K S Sayann, Principal of Continental Institute of Engg & Technology proposed a vote of thanks to all stake holders for making the conference- An exemplary success.
The valedictory function also witnessed display of latest technologies & a variety of gadgets fabricated by the students of the Engg wing of Continental Group. The participants in the conference were issued certificates by the chief guest, Dr Arora. The function was followed by lunch hosted by the Continental Group.
