Chandigarh April 11,2010: Tides of history, however, very impressive, caught in swell of unadulterated devotion, Gujarat celebrates Golden Jubilee of attaining statehood. Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the year-long Swarnim Gujarat celebrations have a very profound influence; it is going to win huge and active participation from the Gujarati people, who are residing in other States, also staying outside India. Not only that they would also organise various programme in the State or Country, where they are staying, to mark the Golden Jubilee of Gujarat.

Minister Shri Kiritsinh Rana, Shri Parbatbhai Patel and Member of Parliament and Dy.President BJP Shri Purushottam Rupala today, held meeting with various institutes and organisations at Chandigarh, and briefed them about the theme and vision of Swarnim Gujarat. He conveyed the message of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, also giving an invitation to all, to attend the grand gala event. As it is a once in lifetime event, all should be there to celebrate the Golden Jubilee function, added the Minister.

People took pledge to contribute to Swarnim Gujarat, also recalling the Historic Session of Gujarat assembly – Swarnim Gujarat Sanklpa Parishad- on 1st of January-2010.

According to the vision of Chief Minister, Shri Narendrabhai Modi, High-Level Delegations are touring different States, meeting people of Gujarat, explaining them about the importance and glory of the event. A high-Level delegation, under the leadership of Minister Shri Kiritsinh Rana and Shri Parbatbhai Patel, Member of Parliament and Dy.President BJP Shri Purushottam Rupala today visited Chandigadh,Amrutsar,Pinjore

The High Level Delegation comprises 15 members, Deputy Chief-Whip in the Gujarat Assembly Shri Ambalal Rohit, M.L.As Shri Kanubhai Bhalala, Smt Jashumatiben Korat, Shri Jitendrabhai Sukhadiya, Smt Vandanaben Makwana, District Panchayat President of Ahmedabad Shri Satishbhai Tundiya, Valsad District Panchayat President Shri Prakash Patel, Development Commissioner Shri Sujeet Gulati, Deputy Secretary Shri Hardik Shah, P.S To Forest Minister Shri Naimesh Dave and Information Officer Shri Arvind Patel are accompanying .

Today, the convention of Gujarati Samaj was held at Chandigarh, it witnessed a very encouraging response from local leaders and Gujarati community. Eminent leaders of various Gujarati Organisations and Institutes were present; they represented Punjab, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Panchakula, Parvala, and other major cities, also expressing their keenness to share joy and glory of the festivity.

Minister Shri Kiritsinh Rana and Shri Parbatbhai Patel urged them to bring the pious water from the river, and the piece of soil as it can be piously used for constructing the Mahatma Mandir (Mahatma Temple) at Gandhinagar.

Minister also highlighted the theme of “Vanche Gujarat- The Read Gujarat Mission is launched by Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, it is very important to nurture the emotional bonding with Gujarati Language, for that they have to take pledge to talk in Gujarati with their family members ,for at least one hour in the day. He urged them to organise Quiz Competitions in Gujarati language for children.

As part of Swarnim Gujarat Ceremony, a Kalash (Pot) would be given to them, which may be taken in public procession as ‘Kalash Yatra’ in their town and States.

Speaking on the occasion, Purushottam Rupala highlighted the theme and vision of Swarnim Gujarat celebrations; it is also aimed to expedite the development of Gujarat, rising above party politics, all would participate in to it, and all would contribute for Swarnim Gujarat.

Swarnim Gujarat celebrations commence from 1st May 2010, and it would continue up to 31st May 2011.

Minister Shri Kiritsinh Rana stated that Swarnim Sanklpa Jyot Rathyatra connects every village and town of Gujarat. People are taking pledge to contribute for Swarnim Gujarat. Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisions to architect Swarnim Gujarat Pledge by Pledge, the 5.5 Crore pledges by the people of Gujarat is to take Gujarat forward by 5.5 crore steps, he added.

Under the abled leadership of the Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat has made remarkable strides on all fronts. Gujarat played a leading role in the freedom struggle, once again Gujarat is playing frontal role in the movement for Good-Governance, added the Minister. He appealed them to contribute in state’s development.

Minister enumerated the special scheme, which encourage children to visit Gujarat, their tour is subsidised under the Scheme. They may get acquainted with the rich cultural heritage of their motherland. The Gujarati schools outside Gujarat may organise various functions, highlighting the culture and theme of Swarnim Gujarat.

As many as 14 High-Level Delegations, under the leadership of State Ministers, are to tour different States of Nation; they would meet and invite them to take part in ‘Swarnim Gujarat Celebrations’. The delegation under the leadership of Minister Shri Kiritsinh Rana, today, visited Chandigadh, Amrutsar,Pinjore and explained the details and planning of Swarnim Gujarat celebrations; he gave them an invitation to attend 30th and 1st May functions.

State has prepared a special database, which includes the activities of Gujarati people residing outside Gujarat, as we know, Gujarati people are carrying out various social and cultural activities in as many as 142 countries, and there are about 407 such organisations active across the world. They are celebrating the national and cultural festivals of India in their country. State is in process of further strengthening the database in the coming days.

Gujarat Government has launched a special foundation for NRGs and NRIs, by preparing a versatile database about them, it aims to utilise their skill and expertise for the Development of Gujarat.
