Ahead of start of new session at The Millennium School Jalandhar, newly appointed teachers underwent a week’s advanced teachers training during specially convened workshop.

Punam Singhal, Principal, The Millennium School Jalandhar said that teachers at TMS undergo continuous professional development.

“We will impart around 120 hrs of training for all our teachers throughout academic year to effectively facilitate their learning in wide variety of settings. Teachers are being taught apt use of student friendly technology,” she added.

Christened teacher empowerment program, the program nurtured teachers in areas of subject enrichment, knowledge of core instructional practices, classroom management techniques and personal effectiveness.

Subject enrichment sessions had teachers taking being imparted in-depth knowledge of subjects. In instructional practices sessions, teachers were equipped with repertoire of latest tools and techniques to support their teaching.

In classroom management sessions, teachers are being taught various classroom management techniques necessary for motivating students intrinsically.

Pre school teachers were oriented to philosophy and components of the roots to wings program used in pre- primary.

This training aide has been developed by Educomp. Aslesha Thakur, Director, Education Empowerment, Educomp said that the basic aim of teacher empowerment program is to deepen teachers’ knowledge of content they teach.
