British School-Leigh Academy UK ink MoU British School partners with Leigh Academy UK

The British School today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with coveted Leigh Technology Academy, UK partnering for educational tie-ups and cultural exchange programmes under first of its kind global school partnership.
Expressing her happiness over the collaboration, principal, The British School, Mona Shri Sethi said that this MoU is school’s initiative in adding global dimensions to its curriculum.
Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. KK Khandelwal, additional principal secretary to CM Haryana who expressed pleasure over this partnership.
A high delegation from Leigh Technology Academy UK visited school headed by Principal Peter Finnegan. Science teacher Janice Holmes and seven children whose names are Amit Basson Bhatoa, Jodie Leslie, Louise Savage, Hannah Strong, Alexander Pollard, Saman Sadri Shirani and Danielle Ridgerf were amongst the delegates.
Addressing the delegates, principal Sethi said that this step has added global perspective to present curriculum of The British School vis-à-vis providing students of Leigh Technology Academy an opportunity to explore rich Indian culture and interact with the students here.
Sethi elaborated that Leigh Technology Academy is one of the best schools in England. The British Council has described it as an outstanding school and conferred it with
2008 International School Award for its work in other countries.
The academy is also recipient of Outstanding School of Ofsted Award for raising standard and improving lives. It has centre for training teachers, head teachers, CISCO regional academy.
Hala Khneif, French faculty member at the TBS said that this partnership has forged close knit friendship which will enable school to develop future curricular projects and drive partnership forward.
The visiting delegates interacted with British School students and teachers exchanging views on culture, lifestyle, education etc.
At the end of interactive session, art and craft teacher and students of British School presented Peter Finnegan with a sculpture made of earthen clay.
The delegates also played golf with long and short irons at The British School Indo-Canadian Golf Academy with coach Manjit Kochhar and students.
A cultural program comprising of polka dance, TBS song and Jai Ho (remix) dance was presented. Students from UK joined We Are The World with other students.
