Saroj Khan Dance Academy Inaugurated


Galaxy of stars descends on inaugural of Saroj Khan Dance Academy

Chandigarh, February 9
A galaxy of stars descended on Chandigarh at inaugural ceremony of coveted Saroj Khan Dance Academy here today.
The dance lovers from the city dying to master Bollywood style will no longer have to rush to Mumbai. They can get trained by the famous choreographer Saroj Khan at Saroj Khan Dance Academy. The academy has been set up in association with Leo One Productions (India) Ltd.
While talking to media persons during the opening ceremony, dance maestro and famous choreographer Saroj Khan said that the academy is in collaboration with Leo One Productions (India) Ltd. and has come up in sector 34 A Chandigarh.
Interacting in the presence of Sandeep Shukla Chairman and Harpreet Singh the CEO of Leo 1 Production (India) Ltd., Dance master Saroj Khan said that different types of dance styles will be taught to the students with Bollywood being its main focus.
Bollywood Stars Udita Goswami, Preeti Jhingiani, Tulip Joshi, Zakir Hussain, Adi Irani and Shiva were also present on this auspicious occasion, who has already danced on the directions of master ji to make this day memorable.
“Different dance styles include Bharatnatyam, Bhangra, Giddha, Bollywood, Jazz, Salsa, Hip -hop, Rock-n-roll, Natwari etc. Blend of other dances would be the core of our dance academy. Aspirants for various age groups would be trained at the academy,” she revealed.
Saroj Khan would be coming at frequent intervals to the city to monitor the performance of students. "I would be coming twice a month just to see the progress of each student. In my absence my assistants will look after the classes. We will teach all styles of dancing but our focus will be Bollywood style," she added.
She said the reason for starting an academy in the city was to connect with its rich cultural heritage. "I am really excited because Punjab has a rich cultural history and youngsters in Punjab are really enthusiastic about dance and are full of rythem" said the ace choreographer.
Harpreet Singh, the CEO of Leo One Productions (India) Ltd. said that similar academies would come up in pockets of Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala and Bathinda besides Mumbai, Delhi and other parts of India under company’s franchisee network.
The course duration will be from three months to one year for learners and certificates would be duly issued on completion of courses. “After training, a person can look forward to starting dance school, participate in dance reality shows or make a career in dancing”. The CEO also added that the welcome batch will be getting admissions on the special price, on or before 20the February.
