Scholastic India holds book fair at The Millennium School

Chandigarh, November 30
Bibliophiles had a treat at The Millennium School, Mohali wherein a book fair was held in collaboration with Scholastic India, one of world’s larges publisher and distributor for children’s book.
Students and their parents attended this fair where they sifted through the pages of their interest. A reading corner was specially carved out where students sat and browsed through books. Students also participated in a book review competition, a slogan writing contest and a book-mark making contest.
Principal Ms. Komal Singh, Principal, The Millennium School said that it is generally believed that students these days do not have flair to read. However, this is a misconception for students do read. But instead of books they usually nimble on text on computers, internet, they read and write e-mails, they read text by way of SMS! Students do a lot of reading but not in the form of books. The motive behind this book fair was to tickle their minds towards book reading, she added
