Rayat-Bahra students rule PTU Chart
Mohali, 23 April: The students of Rayat - Bahra group achieved a rare feat by securing 50% of the top merit positions in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and 40% in Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) for the year 2008, among all the 64 engineering colleges affiliated to PTU, Jalandhar. Also some of the institute students of all the other braches of engineering have also featured in the merit list of PTU examination.
The toppers of Rayat - Bahra Institute of Engineering & Bio Technology , Sahuran and Rayat Institute of Engineering & Information Technology , Railmajra were felicitated by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice Chairman of Rayat and Bahra Group of Institutions at a special function organized in their honor in Sahauran campus, near Mohali here today. While speaking on this occasion S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra applauded the exemplary feat attained by the students and described it as a moment of great pride for the entire Rayat & Bahra Group. He announced 25% reduction in tuition fee for students scoring more than 85 % marks or bagging 1-10 positions in PTU examination. He asserted that the success has once again established their commitment of providing quality education to the students.
The students who excelled in Computer Science Engineering CSE are Kamini Berry 1st in PTU, Jaya Saini 2nd , Kriti Mahajan 3rd, Sukhmani 7th and Neelima Gupta 8th. The students who excelled in Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) are Kamaldeep 4th in PTU, Kanika Dutta 5th, Richa Vaid 6th and Rajnish Kumar who bagged 7th position. The students who excelled in Mechanical Engineering are Sharad Sharma and Saurabh Gupta who bagged 4th and 6th positions in PTU. The students who excelled in Biomedical Engineering are Gurinder Kaur and Garima Behl & Divya Nishant.
Prof. C.M. Bahl, Managing Director Rayat & Bahra Group and Dr. Gurdip Singh Director, RBIEBT, Mohali who were also present on this occasion highlighted various academic achievements of the students and expressed confidence that many new academic standards will be set by the students in future.
