Ashmah kids don different hues on Labour Day

Labour Day celebrations at Ashmah International
Mohali, May 1: It was a rather special celebration to commemorate the Labour Day at the Ashmah International School, Mohali here today, as hundreds of tiny tots played games, offered gifts, sweets and flowers to the helpers and laborers of the school and enjoyed lunch with sumptuous feast, which filled the entire school campus with a different set of ambience. As the school management, keeping on its tradition, for a yet another time organized a meaningful and entirely distinct function to mark Labour Day, the message sent out was loud and clear. Virtues as Dignity of Labour and respect for hard work were conveyed to students in their own fun loving and sporting manner. Playful activities like musical chair run around four corners and pasting bindis blindfolded were among the main games that enthusiastic students indulged in all the way through.

Spelling the main reason behind Labour Day celebration as this one, Principal Ms Roopinder Ghuman said that though it is the menace of child labour which society at large is fighting today yet our future generation needs to be told about the role which this most important class in the working structure contributes to. “We have specially designed this event to help evolve a better understanding of the primary role and importance of working and labour community amongst our students who must learn to respect and appreciate this class”, added Ms Roopinder Ghuman.
