Job Placement festival at Rayat- Bahra gets off to a flying start

Mohali June 20: The two day recruitment extravaganza titled as ‘Amalgamata’ Mega Job Fest 2009 by Rayat-Bahra group got off to a flying start here today as wide spectrum of people from different educational backgrounds like MBA -all streams, B.E. / B.Tech (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 batch - all streams, MCA, other Post Graduates (M.Com, M.Sc etc), BBA/B.Com, BCA/B.Sc, B.A., Polytechnic/ITI, and even 10+2 students thronged the institute to participate in the mega placement drive. It was a sea of students and over 15000 job applications were processed here today.
Informing about the huge response to the event Sr. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice Chairman, Rayat-Bahra group said that this year more than 60 companies are participating in diverse areas viz engineering and IT, Manufacturing, Research and consulting, ITES, KPO, Banking, Insurance, Stock Trading, Advertising, Media, Retail, Food Chains, FMCG, Pharmacy, Infrastructure, Telecom and Web Portals.

Bahra added that a whopping number of 15000 interviews were conducted by great corporate brands including Cadila Health Care, Panasonic, HCL, CMC Limited, CMS Software ltd, Open Access Technologies (OATI) (HR persons from USA to swoop in), SPANCO Tele, Reliance Communication, Reliance Money, Gem Batteries, Venturi Wireless, Kotak Mahindra, Max Insurance, NVISH Solutions, Hash Biotech Labs, Club Mahindra, Diplast, India Mart, FCS software solutions, Blue Deccan Electronic Security system ltd., EBS Chola Mandlaum, Allena autos, Angel Broking, Bajaj allianz, Clarif Life Sciences, Ranbaxy, Kabana Orchirds, Eureka Forbes, Glico Industries, Gold Finch solutions, HFCL, Hughes Communication India Ltd., Idea Infotech, Impinge Solution, New York Liofe, Micro Labs, Metlonics, MHB filter a Bosch group co., Panacea Bio Tec, QA Infotec, TCIL infotech, Thamas Pharmaceutical, Feed Infotech, etc.

Taking cue from the last year’s mammoth rush, Rayat-Bahra management tried their level best to ensure hassle free selection process which is a unique blend of innovation and technology with greater chance of success. This year prospective students were asked to register and post their bio-data through website where information about companies profile as well as the process involved was provided in detail. They were given option to register in five companies and thus they knew before hand the company they opted for. Even before the candidates appear for the selection procedure, companies had already screened their bio data.

Today students went through selection procedure like written test, group discussion and HR as well as technical rounds of interview.
Rayat and Bahra is committed to provide such a platform to students and industry in the years to come also. Expected no. of application processing for various companies has already exceeded 20,000, informed Bahra.
