BJP complains to Election Commission

BJP complains to Election Commission

Chandigarh, September 9
Haryana state Bharatiya Janata Party president Krishan Pal Gurjar today submitted a complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner of India highlighting rampant violation of code of conduct by the Congress government.
While the conduct is in force, the Congress government is trying to woo voters by extending various facilities. The latest violation is that of Congress government’s move of seeking list of scheduled caste boy students from education department for distributing free cycles.
Sh Gurjar said that this was yet another bait to woo voters. He demanded an immediate action in this context. He said that even if the project had been passed earlier, the director of primary education should have kept the election code of in mind before issuing such letter.
In his complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI), BJP president has stated that such notification has been issued on the directions of chief minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda.
Hooda knows that his government will fail to make a comeback and hence is resorting to such tactics to keep the voter on his side of fence. State media in-charge Rajiv Jain stated that why did the scheme to give cycles to scheduled caste boy students come only during elections? Was government sleeping over this scheme earlier?
Sh Gurjar said that chief minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and state government have nothing to do with welfare of scheduled castes. The sole motive of Hooda is to mislead scheduled caste families. Earlier too the Congress government had used same cheap tactics to secure victory in Lok Sabha elections and forgot its promises once it won.
The BJP leader said that during Hooda’s regime in state, the scheduled caste families have suffered worst as never before. The incidents of Dalit women being physically abused, their houses being set on fire and social ostracism have become norm of day in Hooda government.
This has led to exodus of these poor and helpless people from the villages. If Hooda government really thought about welfare of scheduled castes, it should have floated a scheme for social security of these people so that they could live fearlessly.
Sh Gurjar said that Congress government’s true face has been exposed and such cheap tactics will lead government to nowhere. People have decided to oust the Congress government from state in vidhan sabha elections.
He added that these vidhan sabha elections will see BJP government taking over reins of the state and giving better opportunities for scheduled caste people to live fearlessly and with respect.

BJP supports demands of agitating polytechnic lecturers

Pay polytechnic lecturers as per sixth pay commission

Chandigarh, September 2

Haryana state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that staff falling under polytechnic institutes be paid as per recommendations All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and that of sixth pay commission.

Supporting the agitation of polytechnic institute staff members, BJP’s state president Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar said that when BJP government comes to power it would fulfill all the demands of these employees.

In a press statement issued today, Gurjar added that unrest amongst agitating employees is writ large. The staff members of polytechnic colleges are on a warpath to get their pay packages as per recommendations of AICTE. At the same time, the non-teaching staff members of these institutes are demanding pay parity with the center government employees.

The state government has recently dismissed principal of Hisar polytechnic college, Azad Singh Rathi. Both teaching and non-teaching employees are demanding his immediate reinstatement. Gurjar said that BJP supports these demands unconditionally.

He alleged that state government had adopted biased policy in giving pay packages as per recommendations of sixth pay commission to employees of various sectors. “Due to this prejudice, employees have no other option but to agitate,” he added.

The recommendations have not been fully implemented for college lectureres, while no decision has been taken to bring employees of various municipal councils under its ambit, making them adopt agitation path.

Already the non-teaching staff members of state universities and colleges have gone on three-days strike against not been given revised pay scales.

At the same time, many lecturers have resigned from their posts at universities of Kurukshetra and Murthal for not being given deserving salaries.

While protests from all quarters are getting stronger each day, government has not even bat an eyelid in this context.

The entire education system has collapsed due to ongoing protests, strikes and agitations. Future of students is at stake.

Gurjar added that discontentment amongst teaching and non-teaching staff of education community is a proof that Congress has failed to ensure equality in state. Its developmental projects have revolved around its own people, leaving the common man out of its orbit.

The regime of BJP government in state will ensure that no group is left to agitate and everyone’s demands are fulfilled.

Hooda’s advt. spree make ECI declare elections early

Chandigarh: September 1, 2009: A delegation led by the BJP National General Secretary Mr. Vijay Goel called on the Chief Election Commissioner Shri Navin Chawla to-day . Haryana State BJP President Mr. Krishnapal Gurjjar alongwith his office-bearers also joined the delegation.
Vijay Goel revealed that during meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner a startling fact came to fore. The election commission officials said that elections were declared early due to Hooda government’s spree on putting public money to use for political purposes and gaining mileage out of it. The ECI could have waited for some more time, but decided to go ahead with declaration early in a bid to put full stop on the self-promotion spree of present state government. Vijay Goel emphasized that this has proven Hooda government bad governance, misutilization of hard earned public money and the way innocent electorates are being befooled.
Mr.Goel complained to the Chief Election Commissioner that Haryana assembly was dissolved on August 21 rendering next elections inevitable. Despite this, Haryana’s Chief Minister spent crores of rupees from public fund wrongly for self publicity, electoral gains and political mileage. The public money was abusively spent not only on news-paper ads. but also on channels, F.M. Radio and Video Van etc to achieve political gain.
Mr. Goel along with Shri Gujjar demanded that the Chief Minister Mr. Hooda should be made to account for entire public money in crores he had spent on advertisements after the dissolution of the assembly and the Election Commission should take action against him if he had intended to draw political and electoral gains out of it.
On one hand, Haryana is reeling under drought and the state government is asking for grants from the Central government, on the other hand crores of rupees were wasted on self-propaganda.
Mr. Goel added that government hoardings are still there in place in entire Haryana state to achieve political and electoral gains but the hoardings about religious and social events are immediately being taken off.
Mr. Goel observed that it is against Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct should have come into effect on the day the assembly was dissolved. Moreover, the permission for this expenses should be sought from the Governor or the State Election Commission. This has made us apprehensive that elections in Haryana would not be free and fair. The role of the state government appears to be dubious.
• If the assembly had has to be dissolved, the elections could have been held with Lok Sabha elections to save crores of rupees. The Election Commission should see that no govt. should be dissolved within one year of Lok Sabha elections to save public money from being wasted.
• All District authorities of Haryana should be directed to remove all government hoardings and advertisements from public places.
• It should also be ensured that no government guest house, govt. vehicle etc is misused.
• The leaders and other prominent personalities visiting Haryana should be extended security as per norms in consultation with the Election Commission.
• The members of the delegation included S/s Krishnapal Gurjar, Kishan Singh Sangwan, Smt Sudha Yadav, Kailash Sharma, Omprakash Dhankhad and Capt. Abhimanyu.
