Aam Aadmi ki Sarkar strangulating common man with price hike, Amit Thaker
Guwahati, February 7
Aam Aadmi ki Sarkar Congress has left no stone unturned to strangulate common man with steep price hike. Congress has truly become synonymous to inflation.
Amit Thaker, National President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and in charge of Orissa, West Bengal, North East and Sikkim for mobilizations against price rise said this while coming down heavily on the Congress government for sky rocketing prices of essential commodities.
“During Atal Bihari Vajpayee led BJP term from 1998 to 2004, the prices of sugar increased just by Re 1, whereas in Congress term from 2004 till now the same prices have increased by Rs 30. The dear sugar has become bitter now,” he added.
Quoting price increase of rice, Thaker added that till BJP regime in 2004 rice price has increased by Rs 3 and the same has now risen by Rs 10 in Congress led government.
Even wheat registered a rise of just 50 P in BJP government by 2004 and now under Congress it’s increased by Rs 7.50, even common man’s toor dal or arhar dal has become out of reach. During BJP term it cost Rs 31 and now under Congress its price is Rs 88 per kg.
Thaker added that hoarding, especially encouraged and shielded by Congress politicians themselves, is chiefly responsible for this mess in affairs.
Earlier on Saturday, Thaker along with Sh. P. Chandrashekhar Zonal Organising Secretary Assam and North East States presided over the Assam State's meeting in which it was decided to Ghareo Dispur (assembly gherao). Revealing party’s strategy of raising voice against inflation, Thaker said that for gherao mobilization, the party has decide to start mass contact programme titled as Ghar-Ghar Chalo - Gaon Gaon Chalo Abhiyaan in first week of March.
