CGI students lay siege on PTU merit list

Students of Continental Group of Institutes laid siege on merit list of Punjab technical University (PTU) Jalandhar in recently held examination.
Students of CIIS - Institute of Science and Technology, Mohali from B Sc (IT) and M Sc (IT) secured eleven positions in various examinations held in December 2009. B Sc (IT) fifth semester students secured first four positions and eighth position proving their exemplary and enviable academic mettle.
University topper Taruna Kapoor too is a students of CIIS. Following close on her heals were Rupinderjit, Navreet and Richa securing second, third and fourth positions respectively, while Rupinder managed eighth position. The third semester students perform equally well with students Jaspreet and Rupinder standing first and second in merit, while Balminder and Tejvinder secured fifth and eighth positions respectively. M Sc (IT) students also followed the suite. Tania Sharma and Hemdeep Kaur secured third and eighth positions respectively.
Principal of the Institute Navdeep Chauhan said that the first batch of B Sc (IT) CGI will pass out in July 2010. She gave credit of this performance to excellent faculty supported by modern teaching aids, a conducive environment for learning and hard work of students.
Continental Group conducts B Tech in IT, Computers, Mechanical & Electronics, MBA, BBA, BCA & various International Courses including Engg degree in Aircraft maintenance, Computers , Automobile manufacturing and other fields.
About 500 students, after completion of their International Education have secured respectable jobs across the globe in various MNCs. The group plans to commence B Tech Civil, MCA & B Com courses from session 2010.
