CIIS inks MoU with Canadian college for aircraft maintenance course

Mohali, February 25: Continental Institute for International Studies (CIIS) has inked a MoU with Red River College (RRC), Manitoba, Canada, to start a foundation course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. To be affiliated with RRC, Manitoba, the six month foundation course at CIIS would enable the Indian students to gain distinctive edge in aircraft maintenance studies which would be further pursued at Red River College, Manitoba as a 15 month AME programme in Canada. The MoU signifying far reaching understanding was signed here today between Bruce Condie, Director, International Education, RRC, Manitoba, Canada and Lt. Col B.S. Sandhu, President, CIIS educational society.

While shedding light upon the foundation course, Lt. Col B.S. Sandhu, President, CIIS educational society, informed that the six month course would familiarize the students with course modules of Aircraft Maintenance programme to be later pursued in Canada even as preparation for the requisite IELTS bands and other grooming courses would be undertaken simultaneously as part of this course. Students have been given an additional option of doing aeronautical engineering from AYR College, Scotland after having done foundation course at CIIS, added Sandhu.

Bruce Condie, Director, International Education, RRC further added that the 15 month program in Canada is a nationally accredited and certified course by Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council which gives the course a nationwide recognition in Canada. Also students will be able to get work authorization in Canada for the same period. Condie further stated that practical training in aircraft maintenance will be managed in collaboration with Stevenson Aviation and Aerospace Training Centre.

It may be added here that the latest understanding with yet another Canadian institute adds on to CIIS’ repertoire of strategic tie ups with some of the most prestigious colleges and institutes of universities abroad. Georgian College, AYR College, UCOL and RRC now form a list of some of the world’s best institutes where Indian students can now study through off shore campuses at CIIS, Mohali.
