65 schools, 2000 participants become part of Glass Palace fest

The Glass Palace, renowned name in furnishings, honored winners of its cultural fest – our heritage, our pride – at an elaborate grand finale and prize distribution function held today at Bal Bhawan.
Chief Guest at the occasion was Shri Ram Niwas, Home Secretary, Chandigarh UT. While addressing the students he appreciated the endeavor of organizers and was happy to see creations of the little minds and hands.
Ms Ritu Gupta, Director, Glass Palace said that students more than 2000 students from 65 schools of tricity participated in this event that was spread over three days. Highlights of the function remained classical & folk song, classical & folk dance, drawing, face painting etc competitions. She added that School the overall best trophy with maximum number of points.
The drawing contest witnessed participation of more than 1000 students in specified age groups. In 6-8 yrs age group Joy Aditya Dubey from St. Johns School secured first place, Sazal Kapoor and Bhavy Hans, both from Ryan International School were adjudged second and third respectively.
In 9-11 years category Archita from Sacred Heart was declared first, Ashmeen form Millennium School stood second and Adilpreet Bhullar from St Johns School stood third. In 12- 14 years age group Vivitsaa Kohali from Carmel Convent stood first, Navedita Patil from KB DAV School stood second and Aarti Bhatnagar form St Xavier School secured third place. Nine consolation prizes were also awarded.
In face painting competition around 300 students participated in different age group. In 5 to 7 years group Gurleen Kaur from Chitkara International School stood first, Anahita Jain from Sacred Heart School stood second and Krish Singla from Chitkara International School stood third.
In 8 to 10 years group Khush Dhawan from St Johns High School stood first, Arit Jain from St Johns High School stood second and Harish Kumar from St Soldier School stood third. In 11 to 14 years age group Manisha Siwach from Govt Model School secured first place, Maitri Mittal from Ryan International School secured second position and Tanisha Sidhu from Carmel Convent School stood third. Eleven consolation prizes were awarded in this event.
In classical singing contest more than 150 students participated. In 7 to 10 years age group M Shraddha from Carmel Convent stood first, Vishesh Sharma from St Johns High School secured second place and Charanjeev Singh from Bhavan Vidyalaya stood third. In 11 to 14 years age group Hari Krishan from Kendriya Vidyalaya secured first place, Satyam Tandon from St Johns High School stood second and Gaganpreet Singh from AC National Public School secured third place. Four consolation prizes were awarded in this category.
In folk singing contest total 200 students participated. In 7 to 10 years age group Khusboo Sharma from Millennium School secured first place, Lagan Bansal from Hansraj Public School stood second and Aashish Bhandari from Small Wonders School stood third. In 11 to 14years age category Ashray Gakhar from St Johns High School secured first place, Manrupa Thapa from Govt Model School stood second and Suminder Singh from St Soldier School stood third. four consolation prizes were awarded in this category.
In classical dancing more than 100 children participated. In 5 to 7 years age group Vidhushi Kumar from Carmel Convent secured first place, Anahita Jain from Sacred Heart School stood second and Molina from Carmel Convent stood third. In 8 to 10 years group Vidhushi Kumar from Carmel Convent stood first, Katrina Mahajan and Simran Arya both from Bhavan Vidyalaya stood second and third respectively.
In 11 to 14 years age group, Stuti Mehrotra from Carmel Convent stood first, Palkin from Gurukul Global School stood second and Chitra Arvind Mehta from Carmel Convent stood third. Three consolation prizes were awarded in this category.
In folk dancing contest more than 150 students participated. In 5 to 7 years group Kosheen from Doon International stood first, Ashmeet Kaur from St Xavier School stood second and Aleena Malik from Kendriya Vidyalaya stood third. In 8 to 10 years group Eknoor Chahal from Strawberry Fields School stood first, Ankush Vats from Hansraj Public School stood second and Malika from Doon International stood third. In 11 to 14 years category Mehak Singla from Carmel Convent stood first, Nanleen Kaur from Doon International School stood second and Arshdeep Kaur from St Xaviers School stood third.

  1. Congratulations gurleen, you won the painting competition..And yes students of chitkara international school have the ability to participate...the teachers taught them very well. In school, also have many more activities...
